Music Monday: Daniella Andrade - cover of La Vie en Rose
Start your day and start your week with a positive message. Move, groove, and let a positive beat lift you up and get you in a good head space for a good week.
This week is a beautiful cover song of an Edith Piaf song by Daniella Andrade. I picked it because this song is my dad's favourite feel-good song and it's his birthday week (his birthday was yesterday). Edith Piaf personified making things work even when faced with challenge, loss, and heartache. She wrote this song in 1945, and it struck a chord with so many who had suffered losses during the war. Edith Piaf was a French artist, and this song was originally sung in French. It has been covered by so many artists, yet I had to choose this one because it is the one that has my dad's heart.
What does this song bring up for you? Do you sense the joy in the sorrow and the sorrow in the joy of this song? I do, and it's one of the reasons I love this song. It reminds me that all things are possible, and that we can have sorrow while at the same time experiencing deep joy. I'd love to hear how it resonated with you in the comments below. If you have a song you'd like featured on Music Mondays send me the link on my contact page.
